A mug made with the process of coil building, including the handles and the other decorative parts of this were all done in the same manner. The centre part where I coiled a circle over the mug had a glided on white slip inside, I left it to dry and scratched into with the sqraffito method.
The rose was made by having a small bit of coil and wrapping flat circles round and round until it forms a rose shape. The mug here has a theme of Celtic pattern and design whilst the rose was an inspiration to Indian art. Flowers is one of the common choices for decorative Indian art like Paisley is. The two together give a contrasting theme of culture styles and I intend to do more culture collision for a series of coil build pots.
